Tom Paulson

Get to Know Tom. He is Scott and Joan’s son and loves to travel. Tom continues to bank at Peoples even after moving to Idaho.

Tom grew up in Prairie du Chien with his mom and dad, Joan and Scott, and his older brother, Andy. His mom, Joan has been working at Peoples State Bank for almost 10 years so Tom has some fond memories here.

“One of my favorite childhood memories at Peoples State Bank is helping make the floats and being in the 4th of July parade. We always had a good time.”

In high school, Tom was involved in band, choir, and soccer. He graduated in 2014 and had the opportunity to spend the summer touring Europe with the Wisconsin Ambassadors of Music.

“On the trip, we toured many famous locations and performed in several cities. Some of the cities we stopped at include London, England; Paris, France; Crans-Montana, Switzerland; Vaduz, Liechtenstein; Seefeld, Austria; Venice, Italy; and Rothenburg, Germany."

“We took many trips as a family growing up, but this trip really opened my eyes to the different cultures and ways of life. I learned that I love traveling and might not want to spend my whole life in one state.”

Tom was enrolled in Engineering at the University of Wisconsin Platteville and began classes soon after arriving home. While he enjoyed his first year of college, he wanted to try something different.

Tom decided to take a year off and spend time with Andy and his family in Idaho.

“I wanted to try something new and get out on my own. Moving to Idaho sounded like the perfect adventure.”

As Tom grew older, he began to appreciate Peoples State Bank for more than just the parades.

“Even moving several states away, I continued banking with Peoples. I like that it’s a small town bank I can trust and I know the employees personally. When I first moved there were no mobile options, only online banking. I used that to stay on top of my accounts and make transfers when necessary.”

Now, Tom also has the Peoples State Bank mobile app.

“I use the mobile app to deposit my paychecks. You can use mobile banking and online banking any time and any place, whether you are 12 miles or 2100 miles from the bank. I am proof of that.”

In his free time, Tom enjoys disc golf and watching movies.
